







A ceremony of opening EV Charging station at 201 mile bus terminal on Yangon-Mandalay Highway implemented by Earth Renewable Company limited was held at the 201 bus terminal situated in Nay Pyi Taw Council Junction in the morning on 23rd March.
The Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Mayor U Tin Oo Lwin, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Ma-J Gen. Zaw Hein, Deputy Ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council members and departmental officials. First, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Mayor U Tin Oo Lwin gave an opening remark.
Next, U Myo Myint Kyaw, Managing Director of Earth renewable energy company limited clarified the construction process of the EV Charging station and expressed words of thanks.
Then, the Union Minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and responsible person from the Company opened the station by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Next, the Union Minister for Construction unveiled the signboard of the station by pressing the auto button.
Then, the Union Minister and party viewed the operation of chargers and demonstration. After test driving the electric vehicles by the responsible persons, the ceremony was concluded.
In line with the guidance of the head of state and the instruction of the National Leading Committee on Development of Electric Vehicles and related Businesses, Earth Renewable Energy Company Limited has been constructing 3 EV charging Stations along the Yangon-Mandalay Highway and the recent opened one is the second one.
General Manager, Earth Renewable Company limited, Zaw Win Hlaing said "I am here at the opening ceremony of charging station which was held at the express bus terminal station NPT 201 miles along Yangon-Mandalay expressway. The aim of opening charging station here is to provide easy charging for EVS that will run along Yangon-Mandalay expressway. Our company built the charging areas for 10 small vehicles and 4 express buses."
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Construction, Wunna Zaw said "At present, we are implementing 4 charging stations in Nay Pyi Taw, 5 each in Yangon and Mandalay and along Yangon-Mandalay Express Way. From there, we’ve already opened 3 stations in Yangon, 1 on Yangon-Mandalay Express Way and another 1 in Nay Pyi Taw. EV taxis are running now. Today, we opened the charging stations each at Nay Pyi Taw Bus Terminal located at 201 mile on Yangon-Mandalay Express Way and in front of Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee Guest House simultaneously."
For an EV Charging Station, the construction of station building, installing Transformer and connecting electricity cables, installing chargers for 10 small vehicles and 4 buses with the Company’s expenditure of 950millions Kyats.
Similarly, the Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Mayor U Tin Oo Lwin, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Ma-J Gen. Zaw Hein and officials also attended and opened the GSE Charging Station (NPT) implemented by Grand Sirius (Enterprise) Co., Ltd in front of Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee Guest House.
The remaining charging stations will be opened soon. Using EVs could reduce the costs for fuel oil for the people and for the country.
