







Hailing the 78th Armed Forces Day, the clinic of Tharwuthti rural clinic and staff housing was opened in Lewe Township on Monday.
At the event, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win said that in endeavouring for developing a health system that are compatible with changing politics, economy, social, environment and technical conditions, the public health care services are being prioritized for the emergence of the Universal Health Coverage and strengthening health system.
In carrying out the development of the health sector in the entire nation, the health staffs under the Public Health Department are providing continuous health care services from infants to elders with Continuum of Care Approach for the emergence of a health coverage system that is accessible to all and the Public Health Statistics are being implemented across the nation.
The Union Minister added that after verifying Maternal and Child Health Care centers, regional health centers, station/rural health centers and rural dispensaries to be established with the set rules, the clinics and staff housings of station/rural health care centers/ rural dispensaries are being built with the state budgets accordingly the budget year. He also expressed thanks to those who contributed in building the facilities.
Later, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin said that in implementing Nay Pyi Taw as a Green, Clean and Smart City, it is also carrying out for a model health city. For rural people to have equitable access to basic health care, rural health centers and branches are very important ones that are providing health care to local people. He called for administrative departments and locals to maintain long-term durability of clinic and staff housings.
Later, the Union Minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Deputy Minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council member and officials formally opened the clinic and staff housing of Tharwuthti Rural Health Center.
They then viewed around the clinic and staff housing. There are 26 rural health centers in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and the newly opened Tharwuthti Rural Health Center is the 11th facility. There are four rural health centers (branch) under the rural health department and 7 health staffs are providing basic health care services to over 17,000 people in 21 villages. For the convenient accommodation of the health staffs, staff housings were constructed by Nobeline Company with 191.4 million kyats.
