Illegal Trade: Illegal goods worth over 896 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 12th, 14th and 15th of March, illegal goods including LED lights, jade, car parts, LED street lamp fixture, LED panel lamps, rechargeable electric LED bulbs, child bicycles, tents, remote control toy cars, shrimp, plastic bowl and chain cover worth over 896 million Kyats were confiscated at the Yepu permanent checkpoint, at the Myanmar International Terminals (Thilawa), at the Myanmar Industrial Port Terminal container checkpoint, at the Asia World Terminal container checkpoint and at the Hteedan Port container checkpoint as well as in Muse Township.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
