NATO and EU on protecting energy infrastructure

NATO and the European Union have launched a joint task force aimed at protecting critical infrastructure. The task force will cover the energy, digital infrastructure, transport, and space sectors and will be established within the EU-NATO Structured Dialogue on Resilience.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told a joint news conference in Bergen with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, that NATO and the EU saw the threats to its infrastructure from different angles.

NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg said the task force would ensure the safety of critical undersea infrastructure and offshore installations such as the one the leaders spoke from on Friday.
