Summer Basic football training: Aiming to emerge new generation footballers

The summer basic football training is being conducted to youths free of charge at the Football Academy (Mandalay) of Myanmar Football Federation.

The program aims for the students to use their time effectively, to develop Myanmar football sport and to emerge new generation footballers. 

Tin Maung Win, Instructor, Myanmar Football Academy (Mandalay) said "We conduct the basic football technique to be able to learn by the children. We teach four kinds of football techniques such as position, passing, dribbling and game. Every week, we change teaching technique. The trainees are from Mandalay and surrounding areas. "

The trainees who conduct training expressed their feelings on their hopes on playing football.  

Trainee, Aung Khant said "We perform training with the coach. Firstly, we are trained position. I am interested in keeping goal. I will try hard to be a Myanmar national football player and I want to be a goal keeper."

Trainee, Thurein Moe said "I conduct training here now and in the evening, I play football at the MahaAungMyay ground. I want to play at the front line and I choose the left wing. It is an opportunity for me."

The basic football techniques are being taught to nearly 200 youths aged 9 to 16 from Mandalay from 1st March to 10th April, it is learnt.
