







A ceremony to mark World Consumer Rights Day was held at the city hall in Bago on Wednesday with an address by Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.
Firstly, the Region Chief Minister said that in accord with developing in the world, the people's living styles are changing and their food and lifestyle have developed. As the ready-to-eat food and products are produced to be long-lasing by using illegal chemical drugs and dyes, it is affected to increase premature disease and chronic diseases among consumers and the loss of human resources.
The consumer protection laws have been enacted for the safety of consumers. In accord with the population growth, the use of energy services have increased and the transition to clean energy supports the consumption sector. So, it needs to use clean energy in order not to waste the energy. Later, the Director of Bago Region Consumer Affairs Department explained about the purpose of holding the event.
In the second session of the event, an official of Bago Region Consumer Affairs Department discussed production of finished products from raw materials, sale and regulations for environmental conservation for consumer sectors. Attendees then asked further information and officials responded the queries. The quiz in commemoration of the World Consumer Rights Day was also held and officials presented prizes to the winners.
