Disaster Management: 5-day basic course on disaster management

The Department of Disaster Management launched the basic course on disaster management. This regional-level course is designed for governmental employees and members of the Red Cross Society and social organizations in Nay Pyi Taw area to better understand the disaster risk.

In his speech at the course opening, member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and vice chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Natural Disaster Work Committee U Myint Soe stressed damage and loss across the world due to natural disasters every year and importance of prevention, preparedness, emergency response, search, rescue and recovery. This 5-day basic course on disaster management joined by 70 trainees covers courses including disaster and management-related terms, management concept and risk management, climate change and its effects, management policies and procedures, first aid and social protection.
