Tourism Industry in Bagan: Implementations to improve tourism sector

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw met District and Township level departmental officials and related officials from tourism industry at the Aureum Palace Hotel in Nyaung-U Township on Friday morning.

The Union Minister said that Bagan Archeological Zone is one of the tourist destinations with the situation of priceless ancient heritage sites. He stressed the needs to make efforts for increasing number of visitors than the previous periods and to preserve cultural heritage sites.

He added that the Ministry will provide assistance for the benefits of the nation as well as for the locals and entrepreneurs according to the rules and regulations. He called for cooperative efforts of locals and entrepreneurs to develop the tourism industry.

Officials from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Mandalay) reported on the conditions of tourism in the region and the Union Minister coordinated the requirements.

Later Union Minister inspected Thai Language Training Course which is being conducted at the Heritage Bagan Hotel for the development of tourism sector and human resources.

They later proceeded to Bagan Airport and inspected Bagan Information and Training Center (BITC) which is being operated for the convenience of local and foreign tourists to know the data of tourist destinations.

The Union Minister also met with the staff from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan Branch) and gave necessary instructions.
