Money pledge to least developed countries at Qatar UN summit

Countries pledged donations at the 5th United Nations Conference of the least developed countries. On the closing day on Thursday, Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations said her country has contributed $60 million to least developed countries. Other nations who donated funds include Germany, Saudi Arabia and Canada.

The conference opened this week with the Emir of Qatar, criticizing the delays of humanitarian aid to Syria after the devastating earthquake. The 5th edition of the conference convened for five days, amid challenges facing the world as a result of the global food security crisis, climate change and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
