Hoisting golden umbrella: Golden umbrella hoisted atop Bago Mahaceti pagoda

A ceremony of hoisting golden umbrella atop the Mahaciti pagoda in Bago Township was held in the morning on 5th of March with the attendance of Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win together with chief justice of region high court, Commander of 77th Light Infantry Division, members of region government and well wishers.

First, the congregation led by the chief minister observed nine precepts administered by the State Ovadacariya Abhidhajamaharathaguru presiding Sayadaw of Myoma Sarthintaik Baddanta Gandama followed offering different tiers of golden umbrella by the chief minister, officials and well wishers to the members of Sangha led by the Chancellor of Thitagu World Buddhist University Dr. Ashin Nanissara.

Next, the congregation led by the chief minister took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha. Then, the Chancellor of Thitagu World Buddhist University Dr. Ashin Nanissara and Presiding Sayadaw of KyaKhatWaing monastery Baddanta NyayyaDhammaBhivamsa extended loving-kindness.

At the ceremony of conveying different tiers of golden umbrella, the members of Sangha, chief minister and officials and well wishers conveyed the tiers of golden umbrella to the flying carriage and sprinkled with the scented water.

At the auspicious time, the chief minister, chief justice of region high court, members of region government and well wishers hoisted the first tier of golden umbrella through the flying carriage while the members of Sangha led by the Thitagu Sayadawgyi reciting the victorious Pali verses. Then, the responsible persons of the umbrella hoisting group hoisted the remaining tiers of golden umbrella atop the pagoda successfully, it’s reported.
