Efforts for Agriculture Sector Development: Over 20,000 acres of farmlands to be implemented in Rakhine

A total of 2,066 acres of farmlands will be implemented in 7 villages of 7 townships in 7 districts of Rakhine State to develop the agriculture sector.

Currently, activities on choosing locations have been conducted and farmlands implementation works will startin April of the 2023-24 Financial Year.

State Staff Officer, Department of Agriculture(Rakhine State), Tun Myint, said " These farmlands implementation sites were chosen based on interest, willingness and activeness of farmers. The sites also have potential development. Soon, we will work on farmlands for cultivation, irrigation, successful crops cultivation, pure strains distribution, soil development and a knowledge center to share technologies and to work on departmental works processes."

The chosen farmlands implementation sites are in ThinPoneTan Village in Sittwe Township, ThaWonKine Village in Kyauktaw Township, NantYanKon Village in Buthidaung Township, ZalChaung Village in Kyaukphyu Township,ALalYwar Village in Thandwe Township, GalLaung Village in Ann Township and YanMyo Village in Taungup Township.
