New record in Asia! 53-day-old baby girl in China successfully completed heart transplant

The multidisciplinary team of Wuhan Union Hospital successfully performed a heart transplant on a baby girl who was only 53 days old and weighed 3.9 kilograms.

It's reported that the baby girl developed symptoms such as feeding difficulties and mental fatigue on the 24th day after birth, and was diagnosed with severe complex congenital heart disease.  The transplanted heart was donated by a 7-month-old brain-dead boy with a compatible blood type. Over the years, Wuhan Union Hospital has continuously set new records for infant heart transplantation.
