New style of embossed number plates: RTAD offices conduct installation of new number plates

The Road Transport Administration Department inserted additional descriptions of the representing townships codes and car brand name into the new style of embossed number plates. Starting 1stJuly 2021, embossed number plates have been installed to the registered vehicles.

District Head, Road Transport Administration Department, Kyu Kyu Mar Oo, said " Departmental vehicles, highway vehicles, local vehicles, trucks and taxis have to install embossed number plates before 31st March. As for private vehicle owners, they have to contact with the relevant RTAD and install the new style of number plates when they do the renewal. In the new number plate, we inserted township code and brands of vehicles."

Over 1000 people come to fit the embossed car number plates per day, according to the Road Transport Administration Department.

Vehicle Owner, Zin Win Than, said " The staffs are patient and they give good service. If I do today, I will get it tomorrow. By fitting the new one, it is more obvious than others and we can easily know the township and types of vehicles."

Vehicle Owner, Zaw Myint, said " In the past, we only had YGN. Now, we have our actual township and address. So, we don't need to worry about losing the car and we can easily find the solution if something happens to my car. Our possession becomes more firm. I think that this new one is really great."

Installing embossed number plates are being conducted at the Five Road Transport Administration Departments in Yangon District.
