

A Bolivian hunter who was lost in the Amazon junglefor 31 days has told media that he ate insects and drank his urine to survive.30-year-old Jhonatan Acosta recounted his experience just days after his rescue on Saturday. He said he lost contact with some friends as they tried to reach a lagoon after hearing that there was gold and diamonds there.
His family hired locals to look for him and hired planes to locate him in the thick forest.AlthoughAcosta saw planes dropping supplies, he was never able to retrieve them.According to Acosta, he drank his urine on the first few days of being lost, as he was unable to collect any water.The young man thanked his family for never stopping to look for him, and said that his faith in God gave him the strength to survive.Acosta received a hero's welcome as he was brought back to his small jungle town of Baures, 600 kilometres northeast of La Paz.
