End of winter celebrations in Vladivostok

Russians celebrated the end of winter and the coming of spring on Sunday in Vladivostok. Crowds of people dressed in bright costumes paraded through the city and carried placards of smiling suns as they took part in Maslenitsa celebrations. The holiday, which marks the beginning of spring and the week before Lent, features traditional Russian pancakes called blinis and games and dances.
