Renewal of City Taxi Number: Over 60,000 vehicles registered as City Taxis in Yangon

Over 60,000 vehicles registered as City Taxis in Yangon region and YRTC have been conducting new number of city taxis starting from 1st February. Over 350 vehicles register for the renewal of numbers per day. 

Joint-Secretary, YRTC, Lyan Cint Mang said "There are over 60,000 vehicles registered as City Taxis in the Yangon region. YRTC has been conducting the license renewal of these taxis starting from 1st February. From the 1st February to date, around 4000 taxis registered to make new number of city taxi."

According to the Yangon Region Public Transport Committee-YRTC, taxis in Yangon Region will have numbers representing respective townships starting from 1 February.

Joint-Secretary, YRTC, Lyan Cint Mang said "Now, city taxi registration is being done without collecting fines. In addition, the recommendation letter from the ward administration office and the household census are no longer needed as before. We just demand the essential documents such as copy of the vehicle registration certificate, business license and driver license, address, phone number and etc. "

Those who want to renew their license will have to pay K 3,000 for the license renewal fee, K 600 for the driver’s card, K 3,500 for the card stand and K1,200 for the city taxi number sticker, totaling K8,300.
