Religious Ceremony: Golden umbrella, vane and diamond bud hoisted atop the Pagoda

A ceremony to hoist golden umbrella, vane and diamond bud atop Nyein Chan Thisar Nimeinda Pagoda at TaungWaing Hill in Mawlamyine was held on Saturday.

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein and wife, Commander of Southeast Command Maj-Gen Myat Thet Oo, the state ministers, officials, donors and guests attended the ceremony. The congregation took five precepts from the Patron of Abaya ThutaYama Sarthintaik Chairman Sayadaw of Mon State Sangha Nayaka Committee Bhandanda Sasana.

After listening to the sermons delivered by the members of the Sangha, the golden umbrella, vane, diamond bud and offertories were donated to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. They later listened to the sermon by the Patron Sayadaw of MyaCeti Sarthintaik and the congregation shared the merits gained.

At the auspicious time, the Chief Minister and party conveyed the golden umbrella, vane and diamond bud atop the pagoda with the supervision by the Sayadaws. They then offered day meal to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha.
