Hotel and Tourism industry: MoHT took inspection tour in Ayeyarwady Region

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw met with the Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win at the region government office in the morning on February 21 to implement the systematic development of hotel and tourism sector in the Ayeyarwady Region where the home of coastal region tourism industries for the local and international visitors.

At the meeting, the matters on development of coastal region and related destinations in the Ayeyarwady Region, increasing arrival of foreign tourists, improvement of domestic tourism sector and the convenient accommodation of the visitors during the festival periods at Ngwe Saung and Chaungtha beaches and develop the new destinations were discussed.

Next, the union minister and party visited Pathein Hotel and met with the hoteliers in Pathein Township. The Pathein branch in-charge of the directorate of hotel and tourism clarified the hotel and tourism industries in the Ayeyarwady Region and the travel promotion and implementation of tourism.

In responding to the clarification, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions and coordinated requirements. In the afternoon, the Union Minister together with the Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister met with the departmental officials, hoteliers and responsible persons of the hotels at AZURA Hotel  and gave instruction to implement the policy matters and management process harmoniously for the increasing arrival of the visitors to the Ayeyarwady Region.

The union minister and chief minister fulfilled the requirements reported by the attendees and looked round the status of vacationers at Chaungtha Beach and left for Ngwe Saung Beach. In the morning on February 22, the Union Minister met with the departmental officials, hoteliers and responsible persons of the hotels at YamonarOo Hotel and gave necessary instructions and guidance.

Next, the Union Minister and party visited Ngwe Saung Elephant Report at 19 miles post on Pathein-Ngwe Saung Road and inspected the preparations for the vacationers to enjoy by elephant ride.Afterward, the Uniion Minister met with the staffs at thePathein branch office of the directorae of hotel and tourism and gave necessaryinstructions, it’s learnt.
