South Korea and US in air drill following North Korea launch

South Korea and the US held joint air drills over the Korean Peninsula on Sunday. Fighters and bombers from the US Air Force and stealth fighters and jets from South Korean Air Force participated in the drills.

The joint aerial exercise came a day after North Korea fired a long-range missile from its capital into the sea off Japan.The US and South Korea had downsized or cancelled some of their major drills in recent years, first to support the former Trump administration’s diplomatic efforts with Pyongyang and then because of COVID-19.
