Myanmar / Russia: Prime Minister, Chairman exchange messages on 75th Anniversary

Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing sent a message to Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mr. Mikhail Mishustin on the occasion of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries falling on the 18th of February 2023.

In his message, the Prime Minister said that the USSR was one of the first countries that Myanmar established diplomatic relations with soon after it gained independence in 1948. Since then, the amicable ties and constructive cooperation between the two countries have strengthened across many areas of common interest.

This special occasion offers a great opportunity to work together to further consolidate the friendship and usher in a new era that will maximize the vast potential to strengthen our bilateral cooperation. A greater enhancement of the bilateral cooperation through the joint efforts is expected in the coming years for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.

Likewise, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mr. Mikhail Mishustin sent a message to the Prime Minister on this 75th Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries.

Through his message, the Chairman stressed that Russia-Myanmar relations are based on the principles of friendship, partnership, mutual respect and consideration of the interests of each other.

The cooperation in trade and economic, science, technology and humanitarian areas is developing gradually. Joint projects are being carried out in the energy sector, industry, transport infrastructure, education and high technological spheres.

The active collaboration at the governmental level will contribute further to expanding practical cooperation and promoting new mutually beneficial initiatives. It fully meets the interests of the Russian Federation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
