Donations pour in for earthquake victims in Türkiye

Donation piles lined the front of the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C Friday for those affected by the deadly earthquake. The earthquake affected an area that is home to 13.5 million people in Türkiye and an unknown number in Syria and stretches farther than the distance from London to Paris or Boston to Philadelphia.

The United Nations has pledged a $25 million grant for people in earthquake-stricken areas of Syria. That's in addition to a $25 million grant announced earlier this week for emergency operations in both Türkiye and Syria.
