




The United Nations' World Food Programme has begun distributing food to areas in Syria that were struck by Monday's devastating earthquake, as survivors battle with food shortages and freezing temperatures. Trucks carrying boxes of food from the WFP arrived in northwest Syria while hot meals were distributed to thousands of people.
But the Head of the WFP in Syria Kenn Crossley said that access into certain areas to provide assistance has been very challenging, as some regions still present ongoing conflict from the civil war.Emergency crews continued to search through the rubble for survivors using excavators.But in some places, their focus shifted to demolishing unsteady buildings.
