Auckland residents were bracing themselves Tuesday for another deluge and more flooding, four days after New Zealand's largest city experienced its wettest day on record in a storm that killed four people.

Heavy rain was expected from 6 p.m, until Wednesday morning.Emergency officials said teams had been checking buildings around the city in the aftermath of the floods, and some 200 had been given a red sticker, meaning they were too unsafe to enter.Auckland Mayor said up to 12 centimeters of rain was forecast in some areas that were already waterlogged.

At least 5-thousand homes and businesses were being assessed for flood and landslide damage and several roads remained closed after more than 15 centimetres of rain fell in three hours.
