A large black bear in the college town of Boulder, Colorado could have a future teaching a master class in vanity after it posed for hundreds of "selfies" on a motion-triggered wildlife camera.

Christian Nunes, a wildlife ecologist for Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks department, says colleagues set the camera up near a deer carcass in a wooded area about 3 miles east of downtown last November and were thrilled when they realized they had captured photos of the lounging bear.

City wildlife officials say the cameras allow them to learn more about how local species interact with the landscape, and they play a key role in identifying important wildlife areas.
