Germany's Scholz in Argentina on LatAm tour

Argentine President Alberto Fernández received German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Saturday at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Buenos Aires.

During a joint news conference, both leaders agreed on the need to reach the still pending-free trade agreement between European Union and Mercosur. Scholz is accompanied in his visit by representatives of German companies. It's Scholz's first official visit to Argentina since he took office in December 2021 and part of a tour that includes neighboring Chile and Brazil.
