8th Coordination meeting: CALMC held its 8th coordination meeting

There were a total of 34.354 million acres of agricultural land in 2020-2021 and 34.503 million acres in 2021-2022. Totaling over 148,000 acres have increased, according to the annual report of climate and crops production of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics (DALMS).

The levels of responsible officials need to put collective effort to maintain that favorable condition and to promote, said, the Chairman of Central Agricultural Land Management Committee Union Minister U Hla Moe at the 8th meeting of CALMC held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on January 27.  

The Union Minister added the agricultural land should not be permitted to use other ways, growing pedigree seeds for the domestic food sufficiency and boosting export.

At the meeting, the secretary of Central Agricultural Land Management Committee U Thet Naing Oo clarified the matters to be made decision and the attendees discussed as per the specific matters.
