

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Thursday that recent disruptions to the world economy are behind the country's efforts to integrate its economy with that of the African continent.She made the remarks in South Africa after touring the Ford Motor plant in the capital Pretoria.
Yellen tour the Ford plant as part of her visit to South Africa, where she interacted with production staff and observed some of the vehicles assembled there.Janet Yellen, U.S. Treasury Secretary said "The United States’ strategy toward Africa is centered around a simple recognition: that Africa will shape the future of the global economy.
And I explained that the United States is ready to work with Africa as an equal partner - defined not by what we can do for each other, but rather what we can do with each other." She lauded South Africa's trade relations with the U.S. as its largest trading partner in Africa.
