32nd Anniversary of IPRD: MoI Union Minister attends the event in Nay Pyi Taw

The 32nd Anniversary of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that the work programs will be implemented by reviewing the strong and weak points of the tasks in the previous year. The IPRD is formed with 435 offices in regions, states, districts and townships and it is a department that directly contacts with the people through media.

It can be said that the 2022 is a year that the significant capabilities of the IPRD have been shown. In commemoration of 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Union Day, the Youth and Literary Festival, a variety of concert show and the Youth and Literary Arts Exhibition in commemorating 75th Anniversary Independence Day and could be held in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the last year, the Digital Library Management System(DLMS) training courses could be opened to upgrade the digital library system and the trainings for capacity enhancement of the staff could be opened for 553 times. The Union Minister added that the responsibilities of the Ministry of Information have to be carried out in unity and the difficulties may be faced in performing the tasks. He called for applying the role of media effectively for the people by overcoming the difficulties in unity and good ability.

Later, the permanent secretary and departmental heads presented awards to outstanding townships and staff in news, photograph and management fields. Deputy Minister U Ye Tint presented 1st, 2nd, 3rd and special prize winning district offices for the best news reporting.

Afterwards, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented excellent performance awards to township, district and region/state level offices. On behalf of winners, a staff officer spoke words of thanks. Before concluding the ceremony, a video clip on the performance of IPRD was shown.
