Htamane making festival:15th Myanmar traditional Htamane festival

15th Myanmar traditional Htamane (delicacy) making festival organized by the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustee will be held on 3rd February at Shwe Dagon Pagoda, Yangon.

The Htamane (Glutinous Rice) festival is a traditional event in Myanmar that occurs around the Full Moon Day of Tabodwe.11 Working sub committees including the central committee were organized to take responsibility for their own duties.

Member, ShweDagon Pagoda Board of Trustee, HtayHlaing, said " Shwedagon Pagoda is the heart of Myanmar and it is the most popular trademark of Myanmar.The religious and culture festivals including Htamane festival were celebrated at Shwedagon Pagoda monthly and yearly. On 3 February, the Htamane competition will be held."

ShweDagon Pagoda Board of Trustee will give out rice and allot the ingredients that meet with a pan such as 1viss and 50 tickle oil, 4 pyis of Glutinous rice, two coconuts, sesame, salt and sugar.

Anyone who can donate 50,000 kyats for one pan.we will give one fourth of the Htamane to the donors as a lovely gift."

Ten departments under ShweDagon Pagoda Board of Trustee, the vendors along four entrances, sculptors and some companies will compete. 24 teams will compete in the festival. First, second, third, fourth and consulting prizes will be awarded and one million kyats for the winner.
