




An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
On 18 January, an inspection team in Bago Region seized 40,000 kilogrammes of High Density Polypropylene and four kinds of goods not declared in the chart from two vehicles which were driven from Myawady to Yangon. A combined team seized timbers in Toungoo District.
On 19 January, an on-duty customs team nabbed six kinds of goods including 400 Ranco mechanical thermostats and four Samsung curved monitor which were not drawn out after the specified date at air cargo garage in Yangon International Airport. On the same day, a team from customs department seized nine kinds of goods including 90 windshields not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a car driven from Muse to Mandalay and a Dongfeng and a traitor.
On 21 January, they also seized five pudding cabin table lamps, 200 cartons of Nongfu spring water bottles and 20 kinds of goods from a vehicle driven from Muse to Mandalay and Higer Bus carried the goods.
On 20 January, a customs team of Hpa-an township seized six kinds of goods including 40 cartons of Lactasoy Soymilk and two 26 inches TV from a car driven from Myawady to Bago and a Mitsubishi Canter which carried the goods.
And they seized five kinds of goods including 1,500 kilogrammes of white sugar and a Hyundai Starex vehicle which carried the goods from Myawady to Yangon. Also, a combined team in Sagaing Region nabbed a Toyota Wish without license at the combined checkpoint at Tagaung ward in Sagaing.
On 21 January, a Nissan X-trail without licence was seized at Mau combined checkpoint in Monywa. Therefore, 24 arrests at estimated value of 514.398 million Kyats were made from 18 to 21 January, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
