Export of Fishery Products: 6 Cooperative Societies supervise exportation

In Kawthaung township, the Cooperative Department of Tanintharyi Region has exports the local fisheries products to the foreign markets organized by 6 cooperative organizations. 

Kyaw Soe Min, Director, Cooperative Department (Tanintharyi), said " There are 6 cooperative organizations that organized the local fisheries products exportations to Thailand market. In 2022-2023 mini budget years, we exported various kinds of fishes about 8825.089 metric tons worth 14.227 million USD to the foreign markets. We have formed the cooperative organizations systematically and we conducts the inspections of fishes type and tones of fisheries products before they exports. Also we carried out the processes combined with department of fisheries, department of trade and department of immigration."

In Kawthaung township, a total of 118 fishing boats, 87 fishing skiffs and about 1,447 fishermen are working to export the fisheries products to the foreign markets, it’s reported.
