





Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with Shan State Ground Census Enumeration Supervisory Central Committee State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun and officials visited Youth Training School of the Social Welfare Department in Lashio, Shan State (North) on 16th January and looked into checking the household lists of 60 trainees collected by e-ID software that are consistent with the current ground population census or not by the Working Groups of home-to-home ground population census collection, getting national registration cards and the condition of migration to original places.
Later, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister asked about the difficulties of the Working Group members and presented cash assistance for the trainees and cordially greeted them. At the No.10 ward, the Union Minister and party also looked into checking the population census data by the Working Group members through home-to-home service and asked about the requrements and fulfilled the needs.
The Union Minister and party then proceeded to the staff housing of Lashio University and observed the same activities. In response to the reports of officials concerning the difficulties in the work process, the Union Minister coordinated the needs. From there, the Union Minsiter and party went to the Deputy Head Office of the Immigration and Population Department in Lashio and met the District and Township Departmental heads and staff from Lashio, Kyaukme, Tant Yan and Kutkai.
At the meeting, the Union Minister said that in order to have the correct population census, field verification work is an important work for the state and taking census will be conducted from 9th to 31st January for 23 days. He called for completion of the tasks within target time and not to lose the collected data, timely data entry process to e-ID software, security measures for the staff and taking care of document security. Officials reported on plans to be undertaken, field survey works for the ground population data and the requirements.
