MSME Development: Prime Minister meets MSME business owners in Homalin

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with the district and township departmental personnel, community elders and the MSME business owners in Homalin District of Sagaing Region on Sunday.

Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and officials reported on the implementation of MSME businesses in Sagaing Region and Homalin District, assistance being provided for MSME development, disbursement of loans and extended implementation of businesses, arrangements for manufacturing One Village One Product, and implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding works with the use of State Economic Promotion Fund, as well as administrative, economic, social, education, health, security and project works in Homalin District, salient points of NamtPaNga small scale hydropower project, and construction of ChinDwin Bridge (Htamanthi) project.

The MSME business owners also reported on the needs of raw materials, job creation for local residents, production of value-added products, promoting export, extended cultivation of tea leave, market condition, the need of capital for extended works, market situation of dried fish businesses, development of fishery industry and rubber cultivation.

The Union Ministers explained the assistance provided for MSME businesses by the government, including the disbursement of loans and electricity supply. The Prime Minister later gave a speech, saying that Homalin area possesses favourable conditions for implementing the development works.

He stressed the need to encourage the agriculture works, especially tea leave and rubber. The Prime Minister discussed for boosting per acre yields, availability of irrigated water, practicing good agriculture practice and agriculture inputs, human resource development, efficient use of fuel and efforts for education sector.

The Prime Minister later presented gifts for the district and township level departmental personnel. He later viewed the display of mineral resource products, foodstuff, consumer goods, industrial goods, traditional handicrafts, garments and medicines.
