Rubber Export Sector: About 300,000 tonnes are targeted to export

In Myanmar, there are over 1.64 million acres of rubber plantations and among them, rubber production areas are over 850,000 acres. During 2022-2023 fiscal year, about 300,000 tonnes of rubber are targeted to export and currently, over 250,000 tonnes have been exported. 

Khine Myint, Secretary-General, Myanmar Rubber Planters & Producers Association (MRPPA) said "Rubber production acres will be expanded this year.We target to produce up to 400,000 tons of rubber. In export sector of last year, we exported 75 % of rubbers to China and other remaining percentages are to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, India and Japan."

During the 2020-2021 fiscal year, over 300,000 tons of rubbers were exported to abroad not only via sea routes but also through border gates. It earned about 450 million USD from rubber exports.
