With the coordinated planning of the officials from All-Round Perpetual Renovation Committee, members of Board of Trustee and departmental officials under the instruction of the Bago region chief minister, the renovations are being made on the Shwemawdaw pagoda platform. The ancient museum and Kyauk Pa Taung chapel are major renovations during this year. Among them, Kyauk Pa Taung chapel is being upgraded as Shwe Kyaung Taw Gyi.
Aung Kyi, Board of Trustee, Shwemawdaw Pagoda, said " In every 10th of early Tagu (Myanmar month) and full moon day of Tagu, pagoda festival is used to held about 10 days on Shwemawdaw pagoda platform. So, renovations are made in the opening season of every year. When we implement renovations on pagoda platform, we prioritize to the beauty of the environment as well as to preserve ancient Sarsanika buildings in original form."
According to the member of the Shwemawdaw pagoda’s board of trustee, the ancient museum is being renovated with the aim to get historical knowledge for the public and to study according to the storing system for ages. In renovation of pagoda museum, the things are operated according to the era starting from the part of Department Of Archaeology And National Museum and the implementations are underway to reconstruct the museum with modern technology.
Aung Kyi, Board of Trustee, Shwemawdaw Pagoda, said " And also Kyauk Pa Taung chapel will be upgraded as a Shwe Kyaung Taw Gyi. The chapel was renovated in 1,311 and it has been located a long time. After consultation, the implementations of upgrading processes are being made with the aim to get pleasure and peacefully homage to the pagoda for the pilgrims."
The renovations of ancient Sarsanika buildings including prayer halls and Pyatthat are made in every opening season at Shawmawdaw pagoda. Currently, renovations and painting are being implemented to other Sarsanika buildings at Shawmawdaw pagoda to complete before 10th of early Tagu this year, it’s learnt.
