The cleanup along the Central California coast has begun, even as more storms are forecast over the weekend. Hurricane-force winds, surging surf and heavy rains from a powerful "atmospheric river" pounded the region, causing flooding.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency to allow for a quick response and to aid in cleanup. Weather forecasters say another round of severe storms is expected to hit the California coast this weekend.
