








The 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day commemorative booths, traditional food stalls of ethnic people and decorated floats are on display for the public from the 4th to 8th January at the Tabaung ground in the southern part of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw.
Dr. Zaw Lin, Deputy Director, Department of Consumer Affairs (NPT), said " Here, we sell rice and cooking oil at reasonable price in cooperation with the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealer’s Association and Myanmar Rice Federation. At this event, we have 4 cooking oil booths and a rice booth."
Min Aye Ko, Director General, Ethnic Rights Protection Department, said " We display 62 ethnic groups’ traditional costumes, video record of cooking traditional foods, utensils, musical instruments and also vision, mission and policy of our Ministry of Ethnic Affairs."
This 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day commemorative event also includes entertainment programmes staged by ethnic people.
Aye Aye Khaing, Deputy Director, Ethnic Rights Protection Department, said " There are 24 ethnic performers in our team and we came here to perform on the stage of Tabung ground. We came from Yangon and we used to perform at the National Races Village (Yangon) so, we didn’t need take much time to prepare for this event."
At the event, 25 booths from the Ministries, 15 booths from the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States and 15 booths of ethnic traditional food, altogether 55, 48 parade floats representing respective ministries, Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States and Tatmadaw are on display.
