Diamond Jubilee Independence Day: President of Sri Lanka sends congratulatory message

President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe sent congratulatory message to Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The message says that the President extended congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

It is with pleasure that he recalls the long-standing friendly ties between Sri Lanka and Myanmar based on the rich teachings of Theravada Buddhism and shared cultural values that has spanned centuries. He firmly believes that the existing ties and relations will continue to strengthen in the years ahead for the mutual benefit. The President also wishes the people of Myanmar peace, happiness and prosperity.
