Newly sworn in Lula emotional during speech

Brazil’s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was sworn in as president on Sunday, gave an impassioned speech about the challenges faced by many everyday Brazilians.

In his first address, he spoke of the economic divide present in the country. He also expressed optimism about plans to rebuild. Lula is assuming office for the third time after thwarting far-right incumbent Bolsonaro’s reelection bid.
