Buddhist Celebrations in Mon State: Ceremonies at Naga Mauk and Kyaik Phyin Ku Pagodas

A libation ceremony for the donations at Buddha Pujaniya and Rice Offering Ceremony of NagaMauk Pagoda in Mawlamyine was held on Sunday.

Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun, officials and well-wishers received the Eight Precepts from the Patron Sayadaw of MyaCeti Sarthintaik, and listened to the sermon delivered by the members of the Sangha. The Chief Minister and party later donated offertories to the Sayadaw and members of the Sangha and shared the merits gained by the well-wishers. 

The Chief Minister later attended the ceremony to hoist diamond bud, vane and umbrella atop KyaikPhyinKu Pagoda in Paung Township. After receiving the Ovada, by the Sayadaws, the Chief Minister and party deposited the gems and jewellery, donated by the well-wishers. They Chief Minister and party later inspected the extended construction of the pagoda’s platform.
