Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday visited the jetty of Germany's first liquefied natural gas terminal before the official commissioning of the facility. Scholz was accompanied by Finance Minister, Economy Minister and Lower Saxony's State Governor.

The ship, which will serve as one of Germany’s floating terminals, arrived at the port of Wilhelmshaven on Thursday. The German government has leased five such Floating Storage and Regasification Units, (FSRUs), at a cost of $10.7 billion.
