Lagos host dogs to a carnival

Dogs in Lagos are ready to party. Hundreds of dogs and their parents came together Saturday for the fourth edition of the Lagos Dog Carnival. The venue was overflowing with breeds from across the country. Pets were seen dressed in colorful costumes, and accessories all in an effort to get into a carnival spirit.

The carnival's organiser, said the idea was to bring together owners and celebrate them and their dogs and also learn from each other how to take better care of their pets. Aside from the celebrations, dog welfare is receiving more widespread attention in Nigeria, and the event sends a strong message to support, promote, and adopt dogs, as this is a growing culture in Nigeria.
