Healthy and Quality Product: Training on Testing Edible Oil Quality to be conducted

The opening ceremony of a Training on Testing Edible Oil Quality was held at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo made an opening speech, saying that edible oil import has been reduced starting 2021-2022 fiscal year in order to achieve more market share for local product and to reduce the use of foreign currency. He added that efforts will be made in cooperation with the private organizations for providing quality product, distribution with reasonable price and upgrading the laboratory.

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win also said that the skill training courses will be conducted very often for capacity building of the laboratory staff, so as to provide health oil to the consumers. Food and Drug Administration Department under the Ministry of Health will conduct the training for 5 days from 5th to 9th December.

40 trainees from the laboratories under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as UMFCCI and Myanmar Food Laboratory Network will attend the course in Yangon.
