Antigua and Barbuda concern over EU fund proposal

Antigua and Barbuda's environment minister called on Friday for an agreement from "all parties"regarding proposals on loss and damage funding due to climate change and pollution.

Molwyn Joseph, who was speaking on behalf of small island states at the UN's climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, said that a European Union proposal on the issue, which came late Thursday, was being reviewed and areas for adjustment were being identified.EU climate chief Frans Timmermans said Friday that the bloc's proposal on funding for loss and damage and mitigation is “a final offer” that seeks to “find a compromise” between countries as negotiators work out a way forward at the United Nations climate talks in Egypt.
