


U.S. President Joe Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Bali on Monday where both leaders are attending the G-20 summit. Biden thanked Xi for congratulating him on becoming president and returned the congratulations to Xi who recently extended his time in his role.
Xi said the current status of the China-U.S. relationship is not in the interests of the two countries and he looks forward to working with Biden. The Chinese president emphasized that, in this time and age, great changes are unfolding in ways like never before. The world expects China and the U.S. to properly handle their relationship, Xi said. It's their first in-person meeting since Biden took office nearly two years ago.
