

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin met with UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman in Paris on Monday.
The two signed a new agreement on border control cooperation to tackle illegal migration across the English Channel.The agreement will see an increase in the number of officers patrolling beaches in France, as well as British staff being situated in French control rooms.
The new measures aim to reduce the amount of small boat crossings between the two countries.There will also be an increase in funding for surveillance equipment.British authorities say over 40,000 people have crossed the Channel so far this year.
