Kenyan runners win the men's and women's races in the New York City Marathon

Two Kenyan runners, Evans Chebet and Sharon Lokedi made it a double success for Kenya in the New York City Marathon races on Sunday.

Chebet, who won the Boston Marathon in April, crossed for victory in New York with a winning time oftwo hours eight minutes 41 seconds after Brazil runner had collapsed while leading.

Ethiopia's ShuraKitata took second place with Dutch runner Abdi Nageeye completing the top three.Lokedi, won the women's race in two hours 23 minutes and 21 seconds ahead of Israeli and Ethiopia runners.
