Electrification: Upgrade works at Paung Laung Hydropower Plant

The upgrade works at the Paung Laung Hydropower Plant in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw council area is underway to generate and distribute more power throughout the year across the country.

In order to store more water for electricity generation, at the plant, the water level has been raised about 5 feet along with water gates installation. Upon completion of the all upgrade works, the plant will able to store about 21,000 acres feet of water and generate more 8 million units of electricity.
