Qatar opens Consular Services Center for WC fans

Qatar launched an International Consular Services Centre at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans.

It is the first-ever such center in the history of the World Cup.The inauguration was attended by ambassadors and representatives of more than 40 embassies.

Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado, Brazilian Ambassador to Qatar said "As we know by past experience, fans would need assistance in many areas from documents lost, to specific directions on how to contact the authorities. So that's why it is, it is crucial to have this kind of service."

The representatives will help nationals from the 31 countries whose teams qualified for the World Cup, in addition to the countries that recorded the highest ticket sales for the championship matches. The center will operate on a daily basis from 10am to 10pm during the period of the tournament from November 20 to December 18.
