Urban recyclers and environmentalists joined forces on Friday to march with demands while the C40 World Mayors' Summit was taking place in Buenos Aires. Informal cardboard, glass and plastic waste pickers working in Argentina's capital city demanded a law to regulate their work.

As demonstrations were taking place outside, inside the C40 venue, the Mayor of Buenos Aires and his London counterpart held a news conference to communicate the summit's conclusions. Representatives from more than 100 cities met in Buenos Aires for three days to discuss international cooperation on climate change.

Participants at the summit seek to contribute to meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement against global warming and warned that this requires the support of governments and big businesses.
